It’s nearly time to tuck our dear trees into bed and readying them for winter!

Thursday Oct 15 (Starting at Talwood Orchard: behind 1001 Talwood Dr. apartment building, near the community garden)
- 1pm at Talwood Orchard
- 2pm at Dominion Park Orchard (behind Brookdale Plaza on Dominion Crescent)
- 3pm at Reid/McDonnel Orchard (at the intersection of Reid St. and McDonnel St. along the TransCanada Trail behind Motion and the bus stop)
*We will start at Talwood and as we finish we will move on to the next orchard. Times for the next two orchards are approximate.

- 4pm at Keith Wightman Park Orchard
Saturday Oct 17 (Starting at Mapleridge: 1929 Mapleridge Dr.)

*We will start at Mapleridge and as we finish we will move on to the next orchard. Times for the next orchard is approximate.
Tasks will involve:
- Protect trees from rabbits and voles by adding wire mesh, tree guards and tin foil around the trunk and lower branches
- Widen the mulch rings (digging up and flipping sod) so that in the spring it’s a bit easier
- If we have time, give them a final watering
What to Bring:
- Dress for the weather
- Comfortable clothes that can get dirty, long pants and closed-toed shoes
- Water bottle
What’s the Impact?
A community with more fruit tree enthusiasts means better food security and communal action!
