Community Orchard Stewards Fall Stewardship Days
Peterborough Community Orchard Stewards have been busy all summer long attending to the watering and pest control needs at the community orchards. Now it’s time to ready the orchards for the winter. We would welcome a few extra hands to help with with things like weeding, watering, and protecting the young trees and bushes from hungry bunnies. We will also be spreading mulch around the trees where possible, re-staking where necessary, and planting some nut trees at Keith Wightman, Roland Glover, and Mapleridge Parks.
Please join us at any of the following Community Orchard Fall Stewardship Days:
- Tuesday, October 14, 5:30 to 7:00 pm: Mapleridge Park — 1929 Mapleridge Dr.
- Wednesday, October 15, 11:00 am to12:30 pm: Talwood Community Garden — behind 1001 Talwood Dr. apartment building (We suggest you park at the Potters Guild and walk over).
- Wednesday, October 15, 1:00 to 2:30 pm: Dominion Park — behind Brookdale Plaza on Dominion Crs.
- Wednesday, October 15, 5:30 to 7:00 pm: Roland Glover Park — Leahy’s Lane
- Wednesday, October 16, 3:30 to 5:00 pm: Reid/McDonnell Orchard — along trail behind Motion and Total Physiotherapy (search 501 Rubidge St.)
