Curious about retrofit options for your home which will save energy AND money?

GreenUP, in collaboration with the City of Peterborough and For Our Grandchildren, is hosting the Home Energy Expo on Saturday, October 19th at the McDonnell Street Activity Centre to help demystify these options.

Drop in to this FREE event between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. to speak with registered energy advisors, contractors, and renewable energy providers about how you can make your home more energy efficient this winter.

Learn more about:

• The benefits and costs of electric air-source heat pumps;
• Financial incentives available with upgrades in your heating choices and the impact they’ll have on your electricity bills;
• The importance of home energy audits;
• When gas heating makes sense;
• Municipal plans to combat climate change;
• If solar power is right for you;
• Talk to contractors who can do the work;
• Talk to homeowners who have made the switch

“It’s pretty amazing how much money and energy can be saved by doing some simple upgrades to homes, like improving insulation and air sealing. Heating a home with a fossil-fuel burning furnace, like natural gas, oil, or propane, is often the largest household contributor to greenhouse gas emissions,” says Clara Blakelock, Home Energy program manager at Peterborough GreenUP.

We hope to see you there!
