Monarchs & Milkweed 101- Workshop
September 13 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
In this short, hands‑on workshop, participants learn how to responsibly raise and release monarchs from home by understanding each stage of their life cycle—egg, caterpillar, chrysalis, and adult—and the habitat conditions they depend on.
The session also explores how home‑based monarch care supports local ecosystems, from protecting milkweed to boosting pollinator networks, giving people practical ways to strengthen monarch survival in their own backyards.
What to bring?
- Your questions and curiosity!
Where to go?
- Please meet at the GreenUP Office (378 Aylmer St. N., Suite 4, downtown Peterborough). Public parking is available via the Peterborough Bus Terminal or on neighbouring city streets.
What’s the impact?
- When more community members have a better understanding of the role of monarchs in their environment and take an active role in their survival, we will have a stronger, more resilient local ecosystem.
