Soil Biologist Workshop at Bonnacord Community Garden
In late August, urban orchardist Susan Poizner visited two of Peterborough’s Community Orchards to examine their soil. Soil samples were taken and sent to Derek Barbe, a local soil biologist, for analysis. A lot was learned about the micrology of the soils and how important soil health is for the success of the plants that grow in them. This visit will be turned in to podcast, so stay tuned for that!
In the meantime, Derek Barbe will be doing a Live Soil Food Web Workshop at Bonaccord Community Garden on Monday, September 28th at 5:00pm.
If you are interested in attending, please contact Lorraine at loaville@gmail.com. A suggested donation of $10 is appreciated to help cover the cost of the talk.
