Ethical Foraging Workshop
July 27 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Join us for a grounding evening of connecting with plants, and each other, as we explore the concept of Ethical Foraging.
Ethical foraging is the practice of conscientiously gathering wild plants or fungi in a way that protects ecosystems, respects land and people, and ensures the health of organisms for years to come.
Guided by Kelly McDowell, a Community Herbalist from the Peterborough Community Medicine Garden, join us as she shares her knowledge of plants we can harvest ethically and use in teas, poultices and oil infusions.
Agenda:
- Learn about Ethical Foraging and each other
- Walk around to identify and discuss medicinal plants found at Ecology Park
- Share observations and discuss how the plants can be processed and utilized
What to Bring:
- A bag or basket for your harvest
- Garden gloves and clippers (if you have them)
- Closed-toes shoes and long pants
- Mosquito repellant
- Water
Where to go:
Ecology Park is located at 1899 Ashburnham Drive. Please park in the south end of Beavermead Park’s parking lot, then enjoy a short walk down the Trans Canada Trail to reach the Ecology Park Education Shelter. We will meet at the picnic tables.
